Dwight Schultz (born William Dwight Schultz November 24, 1947) is a veteran stage, television, film actor and voice artist. He is best known for his roles as Murdock on the NBC-TV series The A-Team, and as Reginald Barclay in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager and the film Star Trek: First Contact.[1] He is also well known in animation as the mad scientist Dr. Animo in the Ben 10 series, Chef Mung Daal in the children's cartoon Chowder, and Eddie the Squirrel in CatDog.

Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, Dwight went on to earn a BA in Theater Arts from Baltimore's Townson State University. His early work was primarily on stage, and won the "Drama-Logue" award for his role in "The Crucifix of Blood" (starring Charlton Heston.) The A-Team is an American action-adventure television series that ran on NBC from January 23, 1983 to March 8, 1987, about a fictitious United States Army Special Forces team who were imprisoned by a court martial for a crime they did not commit, but escaped to Los Angeles. They found work as soldiers of fortune, while trying to clear their names and avoid capture by the authorities. The series was created by Stephen J. Cannell and Frank Lupo and was a joint production of Universal Television and Stephen J. Cannell Productions for NBC. A feature film based on the series was released by 20th Century Fox in 2010.

[edit]The A-Team was created by writers and producers Stephen J. Cannell and Frank Lupo at the behest of Brandon Tartikoff, NBC Entertainment's president. Cannell was fired from ABC in the early 1980s, after failing to produce a hit show for the network, and was hired by NBC; his first project was The A-Team.
