  • Clare Wille was born in Manchester and trained at RADA. She was series regular DS Dawson in ITV’s 60s police drama Heartbeat and Camilla, Prince Charles’s private secretary in hit BBC satire W1A.  Other drama credits include Housewife 49, Coronation St, Silent Witness, Vera and Victoria. Clare’s work in comedy includes Lovesick on Netflix, Channel 4’s Gameface, Five’s sketch show Swinging and the BBC’s rolling news spoof Broken News, in which she played news anchor Frances Walsh. On radio Clare joined the cast of Stephen Mangan comedy Elvenquest for Radio 4 and sketch shows Spats and Watercooler. Her video game work includes Total War: Arena for Creative Assembly, and Get Even, for Bandai Namco. Clare has recorded a number of audiobooks, notably Elizabeth Gaskell’s Cranford. Most recently she has become the voice for the Posie Parker cosy crime series by LB Hathaway. She is also the UK voice of WiFi smoke detector Nest Protect.

    English stage and television actress

    Clare Wille is an English stage and television actress. Wille has been working as an actress and voiceover artist since graduating from RADA in 1997. Her recent theatre work includes Seeing Without Light at the Drum Theatre,[1]Plymouth Theatre Royal and Look Back in Anger[2] with the London Classic Company.

    After appearing in several television series, she made an impression in the series Heartbeat making her first appearance in 2005 as a nurse named Julie. Following her appearance as Julie, Wille joined the cast permanently in October 2006. She played DS Rachel Dawson, a CID Sergeant who moved to Aidensfield from the Middlesbrough Police Force.[3] In February 2022, she joined the cast of the BBC soap opera Doctors as Davinia Hargrove.[3]
