NASHVILLE, Tenn. (November 06, 2024) — Outlaw country pioneer Johnny PayCheck’s Armed And Crazy album celebrates its 46th anniversary. Released in November, 1978 by Epic Records, and coming off the major success of 1977’s Take This Job And Shove It, PayCheck was rejoined in the studio with iconic Nashville producer Billy Sherrill. Armed And Crazy peaked at #15 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, along with achieving a #12 ranking on the Canadian RPM chart in 1978. “Friend, Lover, Wife” also reached #7 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
